Parijat Residence is a 2,600 sq.ft. urban home thoughtfully designed on a compact 1,350 sq.ft. southwest-facing plot. Surrounded by neighboring buildings on three sides, the design responds to the challenges of limited light, ventilation, and openness through a carefully planned staggered spatial arrangement.
At the heart of the residence lies a vertically connected staircase atrium that acts as the home's organizing element. Beyond circulation, this central volume functions as a passive environmental strategy, creating a stack effect that promotes natural air movement and improves ventilation throughout the house.
The staggered composition of built volumes generates three terraces at different levels, introducing outdoor living spaces, greenery, and opportunities for daylight penetration deep into the interior. The façade combines clean contemporary forms with textured terracotta-toned screens and landscaped edges, creating a balance between privacy, climate responsiveness, and visual warmth.
The result is a residence that feels significantly larger, brighter, and more connected to nature despite its dense urban context.
